A little about me...

Thanks for visiting my blog. I started writing here two years ago as a way to update family and friends with the happenings of our growing family. The more I wrote, the more I read (other blogs and websites), and the less isolated I felt on this journey called parenting, or on a broader spectrum, life. The more I wrote the more necessary it's become for me to write. Writing has proven much cheaper than therapy. And along the way I've discovered, I'm not horrible at it, despite what my middle and high school report cards say. Hey, Mr. Casler. Can you deal with THAT?!

Though my writings most often center around my incredibly adorable children, the content will inevitably be shaken up in the near future as I'm about take on the title "working mom" and return to the (paid) workforce. Wish me luck! I let you know how it goes....

Christmas Letter 2010

I didn't have time to write a letter to put in our Christmas cards this year. Then, as I started drafting one to post here, it was just too contrived, so I scrapped it. In a nutshell, we're well. Often after the girls go to bed I look at Shane and say, "Can you believe this is our life?!" It's better than I ever imagined. It's harder, easier, more worrisome, more frustrating, busier, more boring, faster paced and more joy-filled than I ever pictured it. We're part of the daily grind like everyone, but we have these moments that surprise us in ways we can't see coming. Moments that reduce us to tears or fits of laughter. Moments full of family and friends that are richer than I would've even known to ask for. We're blessed. Thank you for loving our family. We love you back.
