Home!

Here are a few remaining pictures of our month in Astoria.  We've done a lot of driving back and forth and it's so nice to have our whole family back together at HOME!  We did have lots of fun on the beach though, and my mom came up twice.  The other night while saying our bedtime prayers, I asked Libby if she wanted to thank God for anything special.  Her reply? "Grammy Jane's clam holes and Grammy Jane's clams."

This morning we're having a leisurely morning at home.  Watching the news, drinking coffee and watching the girls play.

I finally got a picture of my mom's new trailer.  She's already had it out three times, and even used it for happy hour in the driveway.  She's going to have lots of fun in her home away from home.  The girls love to play in it too!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Daddy and Grandpa!  We love you!

Peyton's Birthday

She's a climber if not yet a walker.
Entertaining each other...
Wish I had those lashes.
Sprinkler time.
My dad was a good sport and repeatedly let Libby pour water on his head.  She thought she was hysterical!
Room for two?!
This is more like it.
Opening a birthday present for Peytie Libby exclaimed, "She got a box!"

We were in Astoria again last week and found a great beach.   It's right on the Columbia river and we drove out onto it, which means we didn't have to haul all of our sand toys like pack mules.  The water is shallow and there's no surf, which is a bonus.  And it's right in front of the shipping channel, so we were entertained by the boats coming through.

Practicing her stance.
Trying to get a good look at the ship.
Peyton watches Shane clean his boat at the end of the day.
Happy first birthday Peyton!
Workin' off the cake.

Happy Birthday Peyton!

We just wrapped up a great day...Peyton's first birthday! She was crawling toward me this afternoon and I said, "Stand up Peytie." She stood! Pushed herself up from the ground, stood and then clapped her hands. It was too cute. I predict she'll be walking in under a month.

A Biiiiiiizy Weekend

Last weekend we went to Bend and had an insanely busy two days.  The one thing I don't have are pics of is the Heaven Can Wait walk for breast cancer survivors that we did on Sunday.  My mom is two years cancer free!  Here's the rest of our weekend......

On Saturday morning we got up early to watch the hot air balloons launch for the Balloons Over Bend festival.  Too much wind.  They didn't launch.  We went back to Julane's, had a great breakfast and then went to watch Jayden launch his rocket with his Cub Scout troop.

After the rocket launch we went to the airport for their annual open house.  This stylin' pooch was sitting in the side car in the parking lot.
Checkin' out the Coast Guard helicopter...
On Sunday morning I wanted to skip the ballon festival and let the girls sleep in.  Then, it was Libby who was up at five and ready to rock 'n roll.  Julane checked the website and it looked like the ballons would launch, so we headed for the Old Mill.
That's one big bunny...

This one looked like it was going down in the river.  They floated with their basket on the water to entertain the crowd, and then took off again.  Impressive.
After the balloons we went downtown and walked in the three mile Heaven Can Wait walk for breast cancer survivors.  I'll have to get pictures from Julane.  After the walk we went back to Julane's and slept.  They boys got busy planning a party for Peyton.  She'll be one on Tuesday! My dad and Margie came to celebrate.  Where does a year go?
Peytie tackles a Ding Dong.  That's my girl.
It was good to be home.  Julane let me take a trike from her garage and guess who LOVES it? She keeps saying, "Ride my bike down to Nelson's house."  So ride she does.

Bedtime Wrestlefest

This was the scene just before bed tonight as Libby was trying to watch Annie.  I'd feel bad for the choke hold that Libby has on Peyton, except Peytie just kept going in for more.  Tough kid.

Peytie and Grunden

Today is a good day.  Last night Peyton moved to the crib and Libby is now in a toddler bed. Both girls slept all night.  Woohoo!  Peyton (poor second child) has been in a Pack 'n Play until now.  She seemed fine with it, but it was time to move Libby out of her crib as she's been climbing in and out of it.  She's THRILLED to be sleeping in her "big gil bed".

Libby has been in big girl underwear all day too, and hasn't had an accident yet.  Today was the first day we ventured out into the world without diapers.  I did take along a potty though, and had her use it in the back of the Suburban.  I'm just not yet ready to have her sitting on a toilet seat in a public bathroom.  Ick.  One step at a time.  She loves her Elmo underwear.  She calls them her "Elmowear".

A Little Behind

We've been crazy busy around here!  We've been to Astoria again, had a busy weekend in Bend, have been working hard at potty training Libby and tonight she's in her big girl bed for the first time!  So much transition to be working on.  Here are a few pics, but stay tuned for more to come.....

Peyton LOVES the dishwasher.  Libby did too at this age.
Sleepy  breakfast.
Potty training can be so confusing.
On our way to Astoria we stopped at Scott and Amy's house to play with Aunt Amy and Lulu (Lucy).  I snapped so many pictures to get a good one!  Libby loves to play with Lulu and talks about her often.
Having a dinner date with daddy at the Rogue Brewery.
After dinner we stopped to watch the Sea Lions.  I'm telling you, a sea lion's life isn't a bad one except that they stink.  Libby was so entertained.  So was I.  Shane loathes the disgusting creatures.
A beautiful day in Seaside.

Libby was dying to play in the surf, but we stopped short at this puddle.  They were happy and it's a lot easier to keep an eye on them.  Peyton would crawl right out into the waves if I let her. Libby would too, but she had a fall in the waves the next day that gave her a healthy respect for the ocean.
Messy girl!
