The Climb

The bad news is that the ice maker went out, and then the fridge itself bit the dust. The good news  is that the new fridge arrives on Thursday. And since this one is broken anyway....

Tonight I seriously considered what it would take to install rock climbing hand holds in our entryway.  That way as the girls grow and get to be better climbers they could climb up into the skylight.  Of course then I'll need to buy a pole vault pit for cushy landings and it'll be difficult to open the front door.  We don't use the front door much anyway....

Trail Bridge

We camped at Trail Bridge this summer, and I'm pretty sure we'll go back.

Setting up our first camp, till a spot opened up right next to the water and we moved.

Shane and Mark critique the woman fishing out on the point.

 The view from our campsite.

We fished at Smith Reservoir and this was Lucy's catch.  I love the look on her face.  It took her a minute to get used to the idea of the fish being in the boat with us.

Lucy brought some markers and the girls took full advantage of getting beautiful while lakeside.  Thank you Crayola, for making them washable.

The girls helped shuck dinner with Aunt Amy.

 Walking to the creek.

 The Beautiful Mckenzie

Once upon a time Shane and I biked the Mckenzie River Trail at this very spot.  Walking down to the creek made me a little itchy for my mountain biking days.  Next summer....

 Fishing in camp.

I built a campfire.  On a piece of bark.  And floated it out on the lake.  Beautiful huh?  Right up until it floated under our anchor rope.  Oops.  Mark ran down and saved the day though, and may have gotten a little wet in the process.

Trail Bridge drops a lot over night.  There was one rock that was exposed in the mornings that would slowly get covered as the day wore on.  On this morning our boat found that one rock.

I could get used to waking up like this.
